Thursday, October 3: WNC Strong

We hope you and your entire team are safe and enduring the horrific devastation caused by Tropical Storm Helene in WNC.

The Electronic Office Operations Center is OPEN. Power has returned, and we navigated the loss of our fiber connection earlier this week (NOT due to the storm) with a combination of Starlink and Mobile Hotspots. Our office and parking lot now have strong 5G cell and data service for Verizon mobile devices.

For the last three days, we have had a stream of clients in and out of our Operations Center. Approximately 12 organizations have relied on EO for critical tasks like communications, payroll, and billing. If you or your team need a place to stop in and connect, please contact our support team or stop by.

In our efforts to help clients re-establish operations, Electronic Office now has Starlink devices for purchase and installation. Please contact our Team to discuss or request a quote.

Sunday, September 29: Helene Response

The hearts of the entire Electronic Office Team go out to our clients, neighbors, and friends here in Western North Carolina. The last few days have been unimaginably horrific and difficult.

Tomorrow, Monday, September 30th, Electronic Office will be open and technical support available under our Severe Weather Operations Plan. Our priority is to maintain critical ongoing client services as well as provide for the safety of our Team.

Wednesday, September 25: ALERT

Electronic Office has been monitoring Hurricane Helene as it approaches the Gulf Coast and Western North Carolina.

Our Team is implementing our Severe Weather Operations Plan to maintain critical operations and provide our clients 24X7 support for whatever comes our way. We recommend making the following preparations (at the bare minimum):

  • Prepare teams to work remotely. Store critical documents in the cloud or make accessible to remote users, test remote connectivity, communicate winter weather plan with team members.
  • Plan for loss of connectivity. Internet access can be severed for hours or days so prepare for accessing your data/network via hotspot, cell phone, or alternate device.
