Our History
1980’s: Microcomputers
On October 1, 1981, The Electronic Office (EO) opened at 780 Hendersonville Road in the South Forest Shopping Center as a retail store selling and servicing typewriters, word processors, and microcomputers.
1990’s: Connected PC’s
The Electronic Office begins integrating Local Area Networks (LAN's) and business software into their client solutions.
1990’s: First Internet Service Provider
Kemper Brown, Bill Fishburne and the Electronic Office founded Internet of Asheville (IOA). IOA was the first internet service provider in Western North Carolina.
2000’s: Broadband Transformation
In the autumn of 2003, the Electronic Office moved to 1257 Sweeten Creek Road. This secure facility would provide the space needed to transition EO from a product-based to a services-based company, allowing EO to keep its clients on-pace through a 10X increase in the speed of data management.
2010’s: Growth of the Cloud
EO leads clients through the revolution in information systems management. EO began monitoring client systems 24x7x365.
2020’s: Mobility & Security
Today, The Electronic Office has grown to a team of over 40 associates. We help clients manage the rapid transformation to hybrid work environments, and protect clients them cyber-attacks amidst heightened cybercriminal activities.
